These Terms of Service set out the clinical and operational rules that apply to anyone booking a consultation, appointment, or procedure with the practice of Professor Dr. S.M.G. Kibria. They are intended to ensure a safe, professional, and respectful experience for every patient. Please read them carefully before requesting an appointment.
1. Booking an Appointment
All consultation requests are subject to availability and clinical review. Submitting an online appointment request does not constitute a confirmed booking โ our team will contact you by phone or email to confirm a date and time.
You must provide accurate personal details, contact information, and a truthful summary of your medical concern. Inaccurate information may delay or compromise your care.
2. Cancellations & Rescheduling
- If you cannot attend an appointment, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance.
- Repeated last-minute cancellations or no-shows may affect future booking priority.
- Emergency rescheduling by the clinic (due to surgical commitments) is occasionally unavoidable โ we will offer the earliest alternative slot.
3. Punctuality
Please arrive 10โ15 minutes before your scheduled time, with any previous medical records, reports, scans, and a list of current medications. Late arrivals may need to be rescheduled depending on the clinic schedule.
4. Consultation Fees
Consultation and procedure fees are confirmed at the time of booking and may vary based on the type and length of consultation, hospital category, and specific investigations or procedures required. Payment terms will be made clear in advance.
5. Patient Responsibilities
Patients are expected to:
- Disclose all relevant medical history, medications, allergies, and prior surgeries.
- Follow pre-operative and post-operative instructions accurately.
- Attend all scheduled follow-up appointments.
- Inform the clinic of any new symptoms, complications, or changes after surgery.
- Treat clinic and hospital staff with courtesy and respect.
6. Informed Consent
All surgical and invasive procedures require informed written consent. Before any procedure, you will receive a clear explanation of:
- The diagnosis and reason for the procedure.
- The expected benefits and intended outcome.
- The risks, possible complications, and alternative options.
- The expected recovery, follow-up, and long-term considerations.
You are encouraged to ask questions until you are completely satisfied with the information provided.
7. Emergency Care
This Website is not designed for medical emergencies. If you are experiencing severe pain, bleeding, breathing difficulty, sudden loss of consciousness, or any life-threatening condition, call your local emergency services immediately or attend the nearest hospital emergency department.
8. Second Opinions & Referrals
We welcome patients seeking a second opinion. Please bring all available diagnostic reports, imaging, and previous treatment records. The Practice may refer you to colleagues with relevant sub-specialty expertise where indicated.
9. Telephone, Email & WhatsApp Communication
We strive to respond to enquiries promptly during clinic hours. For urgent clinical issues outside of consultation time, please call the clinic line. Email and WhatsApp messages are not monitored 24/7 and should not be used for emergencies.
10. Medical Records
Your medical records remain the property of the Practice but you have the right to access copies of your records on request. Records are stored confidentially in accordance with applicable regulations and our Privacy Policy.
11. Confidentiality
All patient information is handled with strict medical confidentiality. We will not share your information with third parties without your consent, except as required by law (e.g. notifiable diseases, court orders, or imminent risk).
12. Photography & Recording
Clinical photography may be used for medical record-keeping, consent, or โ with your explicit written permission โ for educational or research purposes. You may decline at any time. Photography or recording of staff and other patients is not permitted within clinic or hospital premises.
13. Complaints & Feedback
If you have any concerns about your care or experience, please contact us at info@smgkibria.com. We take all feedback seriously and will respond promptly. Where an issue cannot be resolved internally, you may escalate it to the relevant medical regulatory authority.
